We all have moments where we feel focused on ourselves, but deep down, don’t many of us want to make a positive impact on the people around us? The Bible teaches us that the people of God have spiritual gifts that minister the grace of God to others. More than our natural abilities, spiritual gifts are the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit to love, host, and serve. Check out the resources below to discover and grow in your spiritual gifts.
“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts.Use them well to serve one another...with all the strength and energy that God supplies.” 1 Peter 4:10-11
This prayer exercise will help you discern your spiritual gifts. It includes a questionaire to help you reflect on where you're at, a study of Ephesians 4, discernment questions for you and a trusted prayer partner or family member to answer, and some next step resources.
Sometimes we use our gifts in organized ways as part of a team or a group, but the Holy Spirit works through us all the time in organic ways as well. Check out these lists for some of the ways and reasons to serve in organic and organized ways.
