We're hiring a part-time worship director for our vibrant music ministry!

Partner with the Rector to cultivate a culture, liturgy, and people of worship through music, musicians, and arts so that our family of neighbors, nations, and generations can experience a new day in Jesus. They will affirm and seek to live out our value of the “Celebration of Beauty — Being so captivated by the radiant beauty of Jesus that we sing, dance, write, create, and worship him with our whole selves.” This person will be a spiritually and emotionally mature leader who will prayerfully plan worship, lead and collaborate with our music, tech, and arts teams, and serve for the equipping and building up of the body.

City of Light is an Anglican Church in Aurora, IL worshiping bilingually in English and Spanish. We were planted in 2015 out of Church of the Resurrection, Wheaton and are called to be a family of neighbors, nations, and generations finding a new day in Jesus. We are growing cultures of neighborhood presence, generational disciple-making, healing rhythms, reconciliation of nations, and the celebration of beauty. We are captivated by the vision of the multicultural church in Acts 2 that is fully sacramental, fully Scriptural, full of the Spirit, freely sacrificing, and focused on the salvation of others. Our music and tech teams have three lay worship leaders and around 20 members who see their role as serving and supporting the congregation’s participation in worship. We sing contemporary songs, hymns, and chants in a folk style and instrumentation that includes vocals, guitar, piano, mandolin, bass, drums, percussion, violin, cello, and flute. The music teams also write original worship music, some of which has been recorded and released here: cityoflightaurora.org/pages/music.
